At precisely 5:16 for the last six or seven mornings, my eyes have been glued wide open to the view from the bedroom window.
The sky, so blue.
The bluest of blues.
I couldn't stop looking, amazed. A blue so blue it threatened to engulf everything. A pulsing, brighter-than-the-curve-of-a-peacock's-neck blue. Drowning the branches and leaves silhouetted against it. Overpowering that brightest of bright colours, the red clumps of Gulmohar flowers. A blue that seeped through the gaps between the twigs as I watched, filling in the spaces that form spindly faces and maps. A throbbing blue, swallowing the tree whole.
Such a beautiful BLUE.
P.S. The blue of those stockings was the closest thing the World Wide Web has to offer as a means of illustrating my post. But you'd have to see the real blue to believe it :)
5 critical insights:
I have but one thing to say:
What the HECK are you doing up at 5.16 am?!
No wonder you're feeling blue!
Lol... Ok that was more than one thing. But still! 5.16! When you don't HAVE to! :-o
Jan: But I have no complaints woman! 'Tis a beeyootiful sight!! :)
p.s. severe insomnia these days is also not helping with anything,so :)
I echo Jan's query cos I'm still not completely convinced with "insomnia" u know. You have pissed off the sleep Gods woman. As punishment and cure I recommend Fine Single Malt Whisky (or Vodka if your mum/teetotaller roomie has the nose of a bloodhound and the tongue of my grandmother)
Madam, I need help with my tamil. Kuruvi be sparrow right? What be Chittu? Small? White?
P.S. Why do i get the feeling that I've heard a song called chittu kuruvi? Please tell me I'm wrong. There will be an incident involving a young man in bombay jumping from a 24 storey building if he is told that he has a faint recollection of tam songs from childhood!
notgogol: yup, now that i'm independent working woman etc I'm seriously considering taking to drink... :)
hehehe...chittu kuruvi generally means a little bird/sparrow...and chittu is one of my nicknames, so it sort of fits :)
N you're right, but pls don't kill thyself...I can't recall any specific song myself, but a lot of tamil songs have 'chittukuruvi' in them :)
